Hey there! We’re Gio & Dominique, a couple who traded in our office jobs to live a location independent lifestyle. Now we live, travel, and work from our travel trailer.
We decided that we want our lives to be full of amazing experiences and less stuff. So, we scaled down and bought a small house on wheels. This allows us to explore the country while keeping our living expenses to a minimum.
If you are interested in living more with less, this is the website for you! Experience Baggers is all about maximizing our time to engage in what we find meaningful. Come explore and learn with us as we travel the US, juggle our finances, and experiment with tiny living.
Transitioning from Open Offices to Open Fields
When we traveled in the past, the hardest part of our trips was always coming home. We had jobs to work, rent to pay, and a finite amount of vacation money saved up in the bank. This meant that coming back home was inevitable.
At first, we tried to escape our post vacation blues by doing lots of mini-vacations. This seemed like the perfect solution, until having a four day trip planned every 6-8 weeks proved to be exhausting.
Our mini-vacations would be incredibly high energy to cram everything in. Then, we would return immediately back to work with no down time and no sleep. It got to the point where we dreaded how quickly our next trip was coming up on the calendar.
Following this failed vacation experiment, we started to wonder how we can maximize our time exploring destinations instead of having to rush through travel.
This is when the question was posed: Why does home have to stay in one place?
Spoiler, it doesn’t!
We had been intently following the lives of people who live out of RVs and wanted to create our own version of this. So, it was decided: we were going to make traveling a full time gig.
Fast-forward through a year of intense saving, researching, and planning, we finally bought a house our wheels, a 17′ fiberglass travel trailer!
Now, we are committed to a cost-efficient, minimalist lifestyle to make our long term travel dynamic work. Less space and fewer amenities are worth the freedom to live anywhere we want at any time!
